This collection of niche, nautical-themed vacation rentals is the brainchild of Mark and Lorrie Taylor, a creative, travel-loving and entrepreneurial Branson-area couple.

So, you’re embarking on a vacation and have the luxury of staying in a fabulous vacation rental! Whether it’s a cozy cottage or a swanky apartment, this place isn’t just a hotel; it’s someone’s pride and joy. Here’s how you can be the best guest possible, ensuring that both you and your hosts have a fantastic experience.

1. Follow the Rules – They’re There for a Reason!
Early Arrivals and Late Departures: We get it—vacation time is precious! But arriving before check-in or staying past checkout can be a real headache for hosts. They need time to prepare for the next guests, so sticking to the schedule helps everyone stay happy.
Quiet Hours: Most vacation rentals have quiet hours (typically 10 pm to 7 am). This is to ensure that everyone, including the neighbors, can enjoy their rest. It’s not just a rule; it’s a way to spread good vibes all around.
Guest Limits: Sometimes, vacation rentals have a cap on the number of guests. This is to maintain comfort and avoid overcrowding. Respecting this limit means everyone gets a better experience, and you keep the place in tip-top shape!
Pet Policies: While we love our furry friends, some rentals have a strict no-pet policy. This is often due to guests with allergies or sensitivities. If you’re unsure, double-check before bringing your pet along. And for those who can't be without their pets, look for pet-friendly options in advance. Local boarders can be recommended by most hosts! Boarding is a great alternative if you want to give your fluff muffins a vacay in pet paradise!

2. Read the Fine Print!
Check the Listing and Welcome Binder: Before you even set foot in the rental, familiarize yourself with the listing details, any emails from the host, and upon arrival, review the welcome binder. These resources are like treasure maps to a smooth stay!
Respect the Furnishings: Think of the furnishings as the rental’s personality. Treat them with the same respect you would your own. Avoid rearranging furniture or using them in ways they’re not intended to be used.
Clean Up After Yourself: Nobody expects you to deep-clean the rental, but a little tidying up goes a long way. Dispose of trash properly, wash the dishes you used, and leave the space as neat as you found it.

3. Ask Questions
If You’re Unsure, Ask: Not sure how something works or where something goes? Ask the host! They’ll be more than happy to help you out, ensuring you have a smooth and enjoyable stay.

4. Towel & Supplies Etiquette
Handle Towels and Supplies with Care: Vacation rentals often provide fresh towels and other amenities. Use them wisely—especially in the bathroom. Hair dyes, acne treatments, and makeup can sometimes bleach or stain linens. Opt for makeup wipes or dark washcloths to avoid accidents.

5. Hot Tub Harmony
Hot Tub Etiquette: If your rental has a hot tub, treat it like a luxury item—because it is! Keep it clean, avoid lowering the temperature, and make sure it’s covered when not in use. It’s all about maintaining that spa-like experience for yourself and future guests.

6. Give Back
Leave Helpful Feedback Privately: If you notice something that could be improved, share it with the host privately. Constructive feedback helps them enhance their property and service.
Generous Reviews: If you had a great time, let the world know! Positive reviews not only show your appreciation but also help future travelers make informed choices.

Remember, staying in a vacation rental is a bit like being a guest in someone’s home. Treat it with respect, follow the rules, and you’ll have a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Happy travels, and here’s to being the BEST GUEST EVER! 🌟

It has been QUITE A WEEK at The Boone-Docks! Following is photo documentation of one of several BIG projects—The installation of a 43,000lb houseboat via 120-ton crane!

The developers of The Boone-Docks had a vision to create a niche resort of repurposed boats and nautical themed cabins, just outside the Cricket Creek Marina and Campground.

A tremendous amount of planning has gone into this project over the last few years. After several hurdles, changes of plan and months of coordination and preparation, it was finally moving day!

There were more preparations in store for the team once they were on-site. First, the crane was put in to position and assembled.

The move was tedious, but was safely and successfully completed within about four hours!

It's summer, and let's be honest, no matter how much we all love the reward of our time tending the BBQ grill, sometimes it's just TOO hot to endure! We have put together a list of some of our favorite area restaurants to lighten your summertime cooking load!

Arnie's Barn is one of our favorite spots to dine at Big Cedar. It’s just a few minutes down the road in Ridgedale, MO and the NEXT nearest to The Bungalows! The restaurant, which is situated overlooking the Top of the Rock golf course, offers contemporary Mexican cuisine. Lunch is served daily & you can plan for dinner on Friday or Saturday nights. Check out their menu for more information!

Buzzard Bar is another Big Cedar property. Enjoy bar food and live music pretty much any evening! View their hours and more here.

A more traditional Mexican restaurant, Casa Fuentes, is one of our all-time favorites! Located just off Hwy 65 at the beginning of the 76 Strip you can slip in for a quick bite or easily grab takeout. They also offer online ordering!

Branson's Center Stage Grille & Kaffee Haus is a local restaurant with chef-inspired dishes. They serve breakfast and have amazing specials. We highly recommend the Smoked Prime Rib! Check out their extensive menu here.

If you're craving something more exotic, find your way to Mo Mo Sushi & Grill located across from The Landing in downtown Branson. Their Box Combos are our favorite! Call ahead & bring your order back to the cabin for a nice evening in. 1-417-320-6125

Tallgrass is our TOP Harrison pick! This little restaurant/bar/coffee shop adjoins a health food store and is definitely a hidden gem! Their organically and locally-sourced ingredients make this option stand out amongst dozens of fast-food chains. Find them on Facebook for more info on daily specials, etc.

Jamie's Local Flavor is another great locally-owned and operated restaurant in Harrison. If you're into pork, try the Deep Fried Bacon appetizer or the famed Bigger Than the Bun Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. The menu is extensive and the portions will leave you begging for a box. Find them on Facebook!

Table Rock Lake is right in our backyard here in the Ozarks! With 800 miles of shoreline, the lake is over 43,000 acres and the deepest lake in Missouri. The lake is mainly situated in Missouri, but just so happens to dip down into northwest Arkansas (south of Branson) for our convenience! As you can imagine, there are endless options for lake-enjoyment. Here are a few of our best recommendations!

There is an abundance of beauty to take in once you get out on the lake. The hills of the Ozarks surround you completely and provide endless opportunities for picturesque views of bluffs. You'll be sure to spot wildlife including eagles, fish, turtles, and deer as well.

The site first required some major TLC including the demolition of an existing trailer home. Once the unusable structure was removed, excavation work began. By the end of April, the foundations were laid!
